Body Woods in the Slash Core Collection
Gibson has used solid mahogany to construct Les Pauls since the guitar’s debut in ’52. Mahogany is mellow, full of resonance with a strong mid-range—an ideal platform for humbuckers. Topped with AAA flame maple, the Core Collection Les Paul Standard has a distinctive vintage vibe.
Core Collection Neck
Slash picked out a ’50s vintage mahogany neck with his custom C-profile. The rosewood fretboard has the Gibson standard 24.75″ scale length. This slightly shorter length has less string tension, making it easier to take advantage of Slash-style bends and a more fluid vibrato.
Slash’s Signature Electronics
The heart of this new Les Paul is the SlashBucker. Hand wired with Orange Drop capacitors, the tone is full of mid-range honk, with more sustain and crunch available by adjusting the volume and tone pots.
Hardware on the Slash Les Paul Standard
Slash believes in the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mantra, making the ABR-1 bridge, stopbar tailpiece and vintage Tulip tuners a natural choice. All of the hardware is color-coordinated.
